NEWTOWN SQUARE, PA (July 8, 2003) – A Sanatoga PA resident is the co-author of a new professional education course for real estate agents about mold infestations in residential and commercial properties.

Joseph M. Zlomek of North Sanatoga Road, and Regina S. Barker of Kansas City MO, collaborated to create “The Fungus Among Us,” a continuing education seminar that real estate career schools in several states have agreed to offer to students later this summer.

The potential for health problems caused by reaction to mold allergens in buildings is a hotly debated topic in the real estate profession, and has been the subject of several highly publicized lawsuits. “The Fungus Among Us” is an entertaining and interactive course that details concerns, remedies, and legal obligations in dealing with mold for real estate sales licensees and home buyers and sellers.

Zlomek is marketing director for Polley Associates of Newtown Square PA, Pennsylvania’s largest proprietary provider of real estate and related career education. During the past two years he also has written three other real estate courses, all approved by the Pennsylvania State Real Estate Commission.
